USB hubs provide the capability of plugging multiple USB devices to a single port on a desktop or laptop computer. Our USB hubs come in two varieties, bus-powered or self-powered.
A bus-powered hub is one which draws its power supply from your computer's USB interface. An independent power source is not required. On the flip side, many devices need more power than the USB interface can offer, therefore your device will not work properly with this hub type.
A self-powered hub is the alternate hub type which takes power from an external power source and can therefore provide a full 500mA of power to each port. Most USB hubs can act as either bus powered or self powered hubs.
