Favorite "mouse" Special K Music / Band / Choir Teacher (33 years) - 11/11/2009 6:19:03 PM Pros: Small, but comfortable - I have large hands (1 1/2+ octaves on the piano) - I use both of mine with an elevated, cushioned (for the heal of my hand) mouse pad and it makes it very comfortable and keeps my hands or the orbit from every sliding. Very easy to keep clean / I have 2 of them and am buying one more for use with my PC at school - I use the other 2 with Macs (and I keep "stealing" my Macs Orbit to use on the PC) Have had other Kensington products and they all seem to last forever - not sure about the comment about the right click button, but Mac users generally don't rely on them as much, it seems. Way better than the track pad on any laptop - no "rubber" rollers (like some other trackballs) to break down over time; just feels smooth. I do a great deal of music composing/arranging/editing in Finale and the Orbit is very easy to control with small "lines and spaces" on the staff Cons: If you flip it, the ball will come out - but that also makes it easy to clean. I wish they made some different style balls like to used to for their other mice - not a necessity, but kind of cool. I wish they made a little carry case for when I take it with my laptop, so I would be less likely to lose the ball into my briefcase - again, not a big deal, but I wouldn't mind paying a couple dollars more if it came with the Orbit. 5 out of 9 find this review helpful. Trackball works great, right click fails dr jim dental educator, researcher - 9/7/2009 12:13:38 AM Pros: small footprint, reliable trackball, easy to clean trackball and contacts Cons: I have had 3 of these great trackball mice. Everything works great - except that the right click wears out in about 15-20 months. Luckily Kensington has replaced mine, but not without much correspondence back and forth. However, I still have not found a trackball that has such a small footprint and works great without ever having to pick it up. Thus, I'm on my third Kensington optical trackball with another new one still in my filing drawer. 6 out of 9 find this review helpful.
