Gears stripped |

Pros: Worked okay for about a year, then the gears suddenly stopped working. I took it apart and found a drive gear completely devoid of teeth. It probably stripped because I used it to turn screws manually, instead of using the motor. That probably exerted more force on the plastic gear than it was designed for. It's okay if you don't do that. |
Cons: A little slow. Not good for screws that are tight. |
Other Thoughts: It's a nice idea that I was looking out for a long time. I just wish they had used brass instead of plastic gears. I'd pay 10 bucks more for better gears. |

Pros: Works well until it doesn't work at all. Easy fingertip control. |
Cons: I have bought two of these and both of them quit working within a month. Just stopped. Great idea, it works fine until it doesn't work at all! Wish I could get one that worked! |
Response From Cyberguys Tech: Some have found that rechargeable batteries provide better operation. In any case, please contact us for an exchange or refund. We're sorry you found the product disappointing. |

Pros: Coincidentally I've used it about 3 times too. Although the number of screws such as taking apart keyboard with 14 screws may make that number much much higher. Anyway, this is a counterpoint to the single review panning this. The body is plastic. It really has incredible torque for 2 AA batteries (slow speed in other words). So far, the actual drive mechanism feels very solid. To the point you have to be careful not to strip out the screws.
Bottom line for me: absolutely worth the money when I've got a gazillion tiny screws to remove and put back |

Pros: Right size, good selection of bits |
Cons: Used it 3 times and the gears are now stripped (whines but the bit doesn't turn). Unit lacks power/purchase for anything but lightest of screw applications. I basically used it for screwing PC components -- mboards, drives etc. -- no "heavy lifting." Didn't have the muscle to remove a hand-tightened screw on the motherboard. Maybe that's what stripped the gears on me. Go figure. |
Other Thoughts: This is a great idea for a small tool; just doesn't hold up. |
